About the ADS Index
The Aruoba-Diebold-Scotti (ADS) Business Conditions Index tracks real U.S. economic conditions at daily frequency. Developed by Francis X. Diebold, S. Boragan Aruoba, and Chiara Scotti (2009).
The index blends six economic indicators (weekly jobless claims, monthly payroll employment, industrial production, personal income, manufacturing sales, quarterly GDP) using a dynamic factor model. Zero = average conditions. Values below -2.0 correspond to recessionary periods. Source ↗
